HIP HOP IN NATURE

AN INVENTIVE NEW WORKSHOP SERIES COMBINING HIP HOP AND OUTDOOR ORIENTEERING

Have you ever wanted to learn about hip hop music and movement? Middlebury Area Land Trust (MALT) is collaborating with ACT to host an 8 week series of hip hop adventure workshops, out in their local natural environment.

The introduction of outdoor skills such as plant and animal identification and orienteering, as well as service learning opportunities, combined with hands-on activities centered on the Four Elements of hip-hop (rap, music, dance, and art) will provide teens a unique and effective avenue for personal growth and self-expression. teens will keep a nature journal throughout the 8-week program and re-visit personal “sit spots” to develop a sense of place and connection to their local green space. Each session will flow into the next, all the while weaving artful expression with outdoor skills and knowledge. Outdoor and indoor time will alternate each week to provide a variety of opportunities.

This program is sign up only! Make sure to sign up to save your spot!
